We have a packed programme of events and conservation projects, to get involved in.
Our indoor evening meetings take place once a month, with a break over summer, at Powick village hall. The meetings cover a wide range of bird related topics, local and international. We make sure anyone attending for the first time has the opportunity to meet club members and learn about what we do.
We have monthly birding walks led by a group member, they usually take a morning, and again new members are always made welcome.
Trips to reserves
Our monthly day trips, by coach, to premier bird reserves within 2-3 hours of Worcester give members a great opportunity to see a wide range of species not usually found in our area. New members are given the opportunity to join other club members for the day.
WAMBC (Worcester & Malvern Bird Club) is an independent travel company set up to organise and run non RSPB birding holidays exclusively for local RSPB Group members. If you would like to join the local group to take full advantage of the benefits of membership, please contact Richard Grenville our Membership Secretary, email@example.com
Finally, we run several conservation projects across Worcestershire which all members have the opportunity to join in.
We have two winter feeding stations to help our hard pressed farmland birds get through the winter. At our feeding site in the east of the county we are pleased to be feeding a flock of corn buntings; these birds are now very rare in Worcestershire's intensively farmed countryside. Our other feeding site is in the south of the county where we help a wide variety of farmland birds.
We run a bird feeding station at Worcester Royal Hospital to help birds and entertain patients.
We help with surveys of rare birds and we are involved in protecting the last few curlews left in Worcestershire..
