What we're looking for

The Guernsey RSPB Local Group is part of a network of over 160 RSPB Local Groups who are RSPB ambassadors in the local community. The group has been celebrating Guernsey's wildlife for over 30 years and is a wonderful social and active group. The Local Group is currently looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious individual to join its friendly committee as Treasurer. Don't worry, you don't need to be an accountant, or book keeper, you just need to be happy to manage the groups funds.

The skills you need

We are looking for someone who is comfortable keeping simple accounts and handling and accounting for charity money, with regular counting's of the takings and banking them. You'll need to attend a training course at the RSPB headquarters in your first year as Treasurer - something that other treasurers have found hugely helpful, engaging and insightful.

Your time

Minimum:
4-6 hours per month.
Duration:
Maximum five year term of office
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is a great opportunity for you to make a valuable contribution to the behind-the-scenes work of the Guernsey Group. You'll get a lot of satisfaction knowing you play a vital role in enthusing people about the joys of nature - and it's great fun too! We are very proud of our Guernsey RSPB Group. The RSPB has no office, or reserve on the Channel Islands and so the RSPB Guernsey Group is our voice and what a brilliant voice too! Guernsey is a very special place for wildlife and this is your opportunity to be part of the group that spreads the word in schools, the community and to visitors.
