What we're looking for

Lancaster RSPB group needs someone to arrange talks and events on nature and conservation that will be interesting, inspiring and entertaining. You would co-ordinate the annual programme of indoor meetings, contacting and booking a range of speakers and promoting the events. You'd also liaise with speakers and support them at meetings to make sure they have what they need and that fees are paid. The talks programme for the following year is prepared by the end of September. There is lots of information on suitable speakers available within the Group and from the RSPB who will be there to support you.

The skills you need

A good organiser with an eye for detail and a friendly outgoing approach. The role will involve booking speakers for about 7 indoor meetings per year to be included in our annual programme. We would also like to have someone with fresh ideas for events that will draw people in.

Your time

4-6 hours per month
All year round

What's in it for you?

Having fun and knowing you are enthusing and educating people about the joys of nature. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe. We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.
