Location:

What we're looking for

To ensure that the RSPB is providing first rate customer service in the provision of optical equipment and so increase opportunities for sales, all profits from which are invested in RSPB conservation projects, which directly benefit birds and other wildlife.

The skills you need

A 'people person', confident with the public, who would enjoy talking to potential customers and demonstrating binoculars and telescopes. It is not essential to possess a deep knowledge or expertise of birdwatching and optical equipment, but enthusiasm for watching wildlife and some natural history/conservation knowledge is desirable. The most important attribute is a willingness to learn (at a basic technical level) and the ability to listen and provide guidance and support to RSPB customers interested in optics.

Your time

Minimum:
2-4 days per month, any day of the week, 10am-4/5pm
Duration:
All year round
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

Opportunity to be part of the Minsmere team and support the RSPB's work at one of its top reserves. Meet people and gain new skills. Help a wide range of people to choose the right optics for them. We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.

Notes

Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary. The RSPB is the country's largest nature conservation charity, inspiring everyone to give nature a home. Together with our partners, we protect threatened birds and wildlife so our towns, coast and countryside will teem with wildlife once again. We also play a leading role in a worldwide partnership of nature conservation organisations. Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us.
