Location:
Darts Farm Shop

What we're looking for

We want to ensure that all of our customers and visitors to the shop have a pleasurable and interesting time! We need help with maintaining the retail displays, processing deliveries, operating the till and dealing with customer transactions and enquiries. You will be helping to present the RSPB in a friendly and professional manner, and you will be essential in enabling us to continue to provide our members and the public with the facility of a well maintained and enthusiastically run shop.

The skills you need

You will need to enjoy working with the public and being part of a team, with excellent communication skills and customer awareness. Accuracy and reliability with handling money and stock is also essential. Being presentable, polite and tactful when talking with the public, as well as enthusiastic and confident when providing visitors to the centre with information about the RSPB and promoting membership is desired. Retail/customer service experience would be beneficial, as would the flexibility to cover for holiday, sickness and weekends. An interest in conservation and knowledge of the RSPB is useful, but not essential.

Your time

Minimum:
Half a day per week - flexible for more or less
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is a great opportunity to develop new skills, and build on existing ones! You'll be in a solid position to build on customer care, communication skills and problem solving, and use your own creativity and character to make an impact and a genuine contribution to conservation by inspiring visitors and encouraging sales and membership. By becoming part of the Darts Farm Team, you'll be working alongside like-minded people and have the chance to interact with other teams across Devon, and learn about the RSPB's work locally.
