What we're looking for

The Aire Valley reserves are a mosaic of habitats including open water, reedbed, wet grassland, developing heathland and woodland. The main Summer work task will mainly be infrastructure work, rather than large scale habitat management, as it is key breeding season. This could include hide work, putting up or moving fences, and pathway maintenance. General maintenance tasks may arise from time to time to ensure that the Aire Valley remains a great place for both wildlife and visitors.

The skills you need

No previous experience is necessary, just an eagerness to get stuck in, an enjoyment of team work and a willingness to work outside in all weather. A basic level of fitness is required.

Your time

Minimum commitment: 1 day a week – some flexibility
6 months
Spring/ Summer

What's in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the reserve team, helping to make a difference and learning more about the Aire Valley reserves and how they are managed for wildlife. This role will also provide excellent experience for those wanting to pursue a career within the conservation sector. There will be opportunities to learn new skills, and training will be given where appropriate.
