What we're looking for

We would like to deliver weekly walks throughout the site; showing visitors the sights, sounds and smells of South Stack and providing them with information on the birds and other important creatures that live here. This role serves to enhance the experience visitors have on the reserve and encourages return visits.

The skills you need

Essential •Approachable, with a friendly demeanour •Love of the outdoors •Confidence to initiate conversations with and talk to members of the public •Ability to communicate well and listen •Enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation •Willingness to learn and relay accurate information (which will be provided) •Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal development Desirable •Knowledge of how to use a telescope correctly and efficiently •Knowledge of some RSPB work and a familiarity with South Stack Cliffs •First Aid certificate •Own transport •Some knowledge of South Stack wildlife (particularly seabirds) •Experience of working with the public

Appropriate training will be provided, and since you'll be giving up your time, it's only fair that we offer to re imburse your travel expenses (up to 25 miles). Please note the South Stack reserve is quite remote and so own transport is useful as there is no public transport to the reserve.
