What we're looking for

The RSPB Wildlife Explorers need you! Fun, vibrant and important Wildlife Explorer groups across Scotland are looking for assistant leaders to help enthuse the local youth population about wildlife, adventure and exploration of nature. Its bags of fun and gives you the chance to contribute to RSPB Wildlife Explorers (the junior membership of the RSPB); tomorrow's conservationists. The RSPB has over 90 RSPB Wildlife Explorers groups across the UK and wishes to increase this number, so please come help and join in! Right now there are opportunities in the Aberdeen, Inverness and Dumfries areas. WEx groups are calling out for your skills!

The skills you need

Boundless energy and enthusiasm. The ability to communicate with young people and to attend at least 80% of the meetings. Ideas, commitment and passion to help create and run engaging sessions for children between 8-12 years of age, on the topics of wildlife and nature exploration. Typically RSPB Wildlife Explorers groups meet fortnightly or monthly with a programme of indoor and outdoor events. With preparation time, you will need 4-5 hours a month. You will also provide ad hoc support with admin tasks as required by the group's Main Leader.
