What we're looking for

We want the visitor experience at Burton Mere Wetlands to be inspirational, memorable and second to none. Chatting with and helping visitors understand what it is they are looking at and how we manage the reserve, is a vital part of that. We need someone to spend time in the Reception Hide showing visitors a good time by highlighting different fauna and answering questions/queries that visitors may have regarding the reserve. You will also help in maintaining the high level of presentation in the Reception Hide with general house keeping duties.

The skills you need

You will have a warm and friendly personality and be confident in initiating conversations with people of all ages. You will love wildlife and be happy to share enthusiasm by helping our visitors discover the wonderful plants and animals living at Burton Mere Wetlands. You will be happy to explain conservation stories in an accessible way and you will need to have good bird and other wildlife identification skills.

Notes

Introductory training will be given. Further development will be supported by attending 'guided walks' with staff to help seasonal wildlife identification and update knowledge of reserve management.
