Be part of something new and exciting in Torbay….

Tuesday 24 July 2018
Vacancy type:
Volunteering at home, Community groups
Various locations

What we're looking for

We - the Torbay and South Devon Team - aim to encourage a greater interest in birds and wildlife, raise funds and promote the work of the RSPB locally. We share our enthusiasm within the community: at village schools, attending regional fairs and fetes, leading weekend walks and organising all sorts of events. Help is needed in all areas: in any given week we might need help with poster design, event organisation or talking to members of the public about wildlife, conservation and the work of the RSPB. Whatever your skills we would love to hear from you.

The skills you need

We are looking for enthusiastic and out-going volunteers, with a willingness to get stuck in. You needn't be a wildlife 'expert' - you'll always attend events with at least one other person, and you'll soon find you know all sorts of things about the amazing nature on our doorsteps! If you feel at ease talking to people and are fit enough to help carry a gazebo, you may be just the person we are looking for!

Your time

Half a day every month
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is your opportunity to make a big difference to the local community of Torbay and surrounding areas - and also to the work of the RSPB, while being able to share your passion for wildlife! We are a lively and enthusiastic bunch and have great fun while making a difference to the wildlife around us.

How to apply

Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary. Car sharing to events is sometimes possible - we try to be as green as we can - but having your own transport makes things so much more possible. The RSPB is the UK charity working to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife, helping to create a better world for all of us. We belong to BirdLife International, the global partnership of bird conservation organisations. Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us.
