Team Challenge - Tate Peregrines

Tuesday 7 October 2008
Vacancy type:
Practical conservation, Corporate and employee volunteering
Various locations

What to expect

The RSPB's most successful event in London returns for another year! Did you know a pair of Peregrine Falcons nests on top of the Tate Modern? We're looking for corporate volunteers to join us for at least one day to help engage the public with nature, with the help of our Date with Nature team pitched next to the Millennium Bridge.

Your group

We require groups of 1 - 3 people to help for one of multiple days. You will be required to learn about the Peregrines and retain information for the day. But enthusiastic, engaging people are a must!

Support us

1 day
9:30 am - 4:00 pm
July - September

The skills and time provided by corporate teams are incredibly valuable to the RSPB. Corporate work parties help us tackle jobs that would otherwise take our wardens days or even weeks to complete. Employee volunteering also helps us to build community links and valuable business support, and many of our business volunteers return to our reserves with family and friends after their volunteer experience. Some even join as members and become life-long supporters.

How you will help us

Telescopes will be set up for you to use and show the public the Peregrines nesting on top of the Tate chimney. When the birds are off hunting and scouring the skies we have a number of activities which we'd like you to engage the public with. We'll also be playing recently recorded footage from nest-side cameras via a TV screen, which will aid with your engagement whilst the birds are away from their roost. This is a great opportunity to provide some background and commentary on what is being shown, eventually passing any members interested in knowing more about the RSPB and membership onto our People Engagement Team.
