What we're looking for

We want you to help share your own enthusiasm for nature and wildlife and to help others see the beauty of our healthlands. Whilst we do not have our own visitor centre, we still run events here and elsewhere and we need someone friendly and reliable to join our team. Specialist wildlife knowledge is not necessarily required. Responsibilities will vary but will include: *Assisting with Guided Walks *Helping to set up, run a small event stand and pack away afterwards *Talking to people of all ages about the reserves and the work of the RSPB *Helping create promotional material *Helping to prepare for upcoming events as part of a team This role can be suitable for members of a family who want to work together.

The skills you need

You will already have bags of enthusiasm about nature and the environment but you will also need great communication skills so you can share your enthusiasm and inspire others. Experience in running events would be useful but isn't essential as it's your friendly and outgoing personality that is more important. Enthusiasm, reliability, a passion for nature and great communication skills that can inspire others. Experience of Microsoft Office would be an advantage.

Your time

Flexible 1 day per month, including some evening and weekend work. Hours can be discussed
All year round but busiest in summer.

What's in it for you?

This is your chance to volunteer for the UK's largest wildlife conservation charity and to help put nature first. This is a great opportunity to enhance your people skills, escape into nature and to gain event and marketing experience. Some training will be given along the way and you will be part of an organisation that values and supports its volunteers. A little of your time really does go a long way.
