Fleet Vehicle Maintenance Volunteer

Got a passion for cars, some basic mechanical knowledge and attention to detail? We're asking for a couple of hours of your time each month to check our fleet cars.

Monday 14 October 2019
Vacancy type:
Office and administration
Eastern England Regional Office

What we're looking for

Our fleet vehicles need to be in tip-top shape, ready for conservation action! As an environment loving organisation, we take our CO2 emissions very seriously, so we need happy, healthy cars that won't stop our planet from feeling the same way. We're looking for someone who can conduct our weekly car checks, and be flexible on when in the week they get done as the three cars are about and about an awful lot. If you've got a drivers license, that would be a bonus as we sometimes need help taking the cars for a service or MOT. So, if you've got the X(reg)-Factor we'd love to welcome you into the RSPB England team!

The skills you need

Knowledge of cars is essential to carry out general car maintenance, such as oil and lights checks. A driving license would be useful but is not essential. You need to be self-motivated, with attention to detail and happy to work through a to-do list on your own.

Your time

Ideally once a month, during office hours, may need to be flexible on day(s) of the week
All year round

What's in it for you?

If you've a passion for cars, then this flexible role could be your perfect project. It's a great opportunity to contribute to the effectiveness of RSPB work and meet new people. We'll provide all the necessary equipment (including tea and biscuits), all we need from you is a bit of elbow grease!
