What to expect
Our nature reserve at Pagham Harbour is a glorious and recognised wetland site for wildlife encompassed with historical heritage. Resident birds include little egrets, ringed plovers and lapwings. Many migrant bird species pass through this site on their way to and from their wintering grounds and during the summer you can observe lapwings and little terns breeding, dragonflies patrolling the reed beds and lizards basking in the sun. Having taken over the site from West Sussex County Council in 2012, the RSPB maintains the site to not only encourage wildlife to thrive, but to allow local visitors to immerse themselves in nature. Facilities: small visitor centre, toilets, car parking.
