What we're looking for

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers aged 11 to 18 to join our Youth Ranger team. Based on the RSPB Saltholme reserve you will carry out conservation related tasks such as meadow management, tern island maintenance and willow work as well as helping us look after our visitor infrastructure.

The skills you need

You do not need any previous knowledge or experience to join the Youth Ranger team as this volunteering opportunity will provide you with appropriate training. However, you will have a passion for the outdoors and a desire to help others to enjoy it. You will have a reasonable to good level of fitness and feel comfortable working outdoors in remote locations in all weather.

Notes

The Youth Ranger Programme is aimed at 11 to 18 year olds. Sessions will be delivered once a month usually on a Saturday. The programme aims to give young people an all round experience of working within a conservation organisation and may include additional skills development. You will need an up to date tetanus injection.
