What we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic Residential Volunteer to help us deliver all aspects of our reserve management programme. We have a real desire to continue to develop and improve Frampton Marsh and Freiston Shore nature reserves, to make them even better for wildlife and for our visitors who come to see it. We have exciting plans but we need help to turn these into reality, so we need you to be a central part of our management team to bring these plans to fruition.

The skills you need

You will need enthusiasm, and the ability to work both as part of a team and undertake tasks yourself. You should have a keen interest in conservation, good interpersonal skills, a desire to learn and develop your identification skills of birds and everything else that lives and breathes! You must be prepared to undertake outdoor practical work in a variety of weather conditions . You must also be aged 18 or over and have a full driving licence.

What's in it for you?

Frampton Marsh and Freiston Shore are at the forefront of innovative habitat and visitor management techniques. You will get the chance to be part of developing these processes and influence how we view reserve management for years to come, both for wildlife and visitors. We are offering you the chance to learn and develop your skills on managing wetlands, maintaining infrastructure, conduct research, survey & monitoring and be involved with visitor services, making this a very varied opportunity. Our staff are very keen to help you start your career in conservation and so far we have a high success rate of our residential volunteers finding paid employment (although this cannot be guaranteed!). With the accommodation being virtually on Frampton reserve you have the opportunity to walk out the door and see amazing wildlife spectacles. Living in a large Georgian Grade II listed farmhouse your private bedroom might be described as 'palatial'!
