Team Challenge - Wildflower Meadow Management at Frampton Marsh

Posted:
Friday 15 February 2019
Vacancy type:
Practical conservation, Corporate and employee volunteering
Location:
Lincolnshire Wash Reserves

What to expect

Much of our nature reserve management can only be carried out by hand because heavy machinery could disturb the important wildlife we are working to protect. As an independent registered charity we rely on volunteers to help us carry out this work.

Your group

Team Challenges can be messy and energetic, but that's all part of the fun! We will provide supervision and any tools or materials necessary to complete the task. No experience is necessary but you do need to be able to do physical work. Volunteers will need plenty of drinking water, stout shoes, waterproofs and a change of clothes in case of bad weather, sun cream and hats if hot. Lunch will be provided.

Minimum:
1 day
Duration:
1 day
Period:
15th September to end of October

The skills and time provided by corporate teams are incredibly valuable to the RSPB. Corporate work parties help us tackle jobs that would otherwise take our wardens days or even weeks to complete. Employee volunteering also helps us to build community links and valuable business support, and many of our business volunteers return to our reserves with family and friends after their volunteer experience. Some even join as members and become life-long supporters.

How you will help us

RSPB Team Challenge offers an unusual and cost-effective alternative to the myriad of outdoor 'corporate training' days now on offer. Your employees will join regular RSPB staff at one of the RSPB's top nature reserves and become 'Wardens' for a day - making a real contribution to wildlife conservation while working as a team and having fun.

Notes

Your help makes a direct impact on the work of the reserve and we are grateful for your contribution in this way. We do also ask for a donation to cover the cost of organising and equiping team challenges of a minimum of £25 per head. The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing – help us keep it that way.
