You will act as a link between the group and the RSPB, supported by both their hardworking local committee and the Volunteering Development Officers. The Galloway Local Group is an active group who meets monthly at indoor meetings with knowledgeable speakers from September to April inclusive, as well as going on some outings to see local wildlife. They actively fundraise for the RSPB throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

The skills you need

You need to be able to inspire and lead the Galloway local group committee - good communication skills are vital, as well as good delegation skills. Obviously enthusiasm for the RSPB and what we are trying to achieve is vital.

Maximum 5 year term of office

All year round

What's in it for you?

This is your chance to increase awareness about the RSPB and the importance of conservation in your local area. This work can be very enjoyable and you will have the chance to work alongside like-minded and enthusiastic RSPB members and engender an interest in new people to the group as well as to the wider public through events.
