Location:

What we're looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing volunteers who will inspire the public to support the conservation work that we do through public engagement and community events. This varied role involves attending events from local village fairs to national shows, such as the hay Festival. You will be working with RSPB staff members where you will be chatting to the public, assisting with the setup of the stand and running engaging activities for families. We have a fantastic partnership with Famous Grouse Whisky, which allows us to fundraise through whisky tasting and selling raffles, with the prize being a whisky hamper.

The skills you need

• Confidence in engaging with the public. • Enthusiasm for wildlife conservation • Recording information accurately and securely. • Basic numeracy skills for handling money.

Your time

Minimum:
We'd like our volunteers to be able to commit to a minimum of 4 events a year
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
Opportunities all year, busy periods in summer

What's in it for you?

This will be a great opportunity to work with a friendly and dedicated team. We can help you gain people engagement skills and give you valuable insight into our work. You will be able to get out and about, meet new people and promote the RSPB. Our staff and volunteers love seeing children's faces light up when they discover something new about nature and they often revisit our stands once they have joined to tell us what they've discovered since.
