What we're looking for

Our local groups play a vital role, supporting the work of the RSPB locally through fundraising, events, education and much more, as well as providing a focal point for interested people to meet. We are looking for a leader for our York group who will act as a conduit between the group and the RSPB, supported both by our Local Groups Officer/Volunteering Development Officers, and the local committee. Our network of over 160 RSPB local groups are ambassadors for the RSPB in the local community, supporting our work We need an enthusiastic and conscientious individual to be the leader of a group. You will be supported in the role by a team of dedicated committee members.

The skills you need

You need to be able to inspire and lead the committee - good communication skills are vital, as well as good delegation skills. Enthusiasm for the RSPB and what we are trying to achieve is vital. This role is open to RSPB members.

Your time

Minimum:
8-10 hours a month. Initial 2 day training course.
Duration:
Maximum 5 year term of office
Period:
All year round

Appropriate training will be provided, including a two day Group Leaders' Course, and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary.
