What we're looking for

St. Aidan's has a mosaic of habitats including open water and islands, reedbeds, wet grassland, woodland and meadows. The main winter work task will be clearing scrub in a variety of these habitats to enhance them for wildlife. Other habitat management and general maintenance tasks may arise from time to time to ensure that St. Aidan's remains a great place for both wildlife and visitors.

The skills you need

No previous experience is necessary, just an eagerness to get stuck in, an enjoyment of team work and a willingness to work outside in all weather. A basic level of fitness is required.

Your time

One day a week: Wednesday or Thursday, 9am – 4pm.
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the reserve team, helping to make a difference and learning more about St. Aidan's and how it's managed for wildlife and people. This role will also provide excellent experience for those wanting to pursue a career within the conservation sector. There will be opportunities to learn new skills, and training will be given where appropriate.
