Vacancy type:
Publicity and promotional, Helping visitors at our reserves, Retail and marketing
Location:
St Aidans

What we're looking for

We need people who can enthuse and inspire visitors and local people about the work of the RSPB and our partners Leeds City Council at RSPB St Aidan's nature park. We are looking for people to be in the visitor centre, helping visitors to get the most out of their visit, chatting to the public about the history of the site, the wildlife that lives there and the work that we do. You'll also be collecting feedback and ideas from the public, and answering their questions. You'll be serving customers as they buy food, drinks, car parking and for activities, and helping to keep the visitor centre clean and tidy.

The skills you need

You'll need to be a great people person with the ability to communicate with lots of different people in a positive way. To be able to enthuse and inspire adults and children about the wonders of the natural world in an upbeat and engaging way. As well as being willing to learn about the work and campaigns of the RSPB and share those stories with our visitors, encouraging them to support us morally, financially or by giving their time as a volunteer too. You'll also need to be a good team player, willing to get stuck in.

Your time

Minimum:
One or more full days per week
Duration:
On going
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

You'll join a really friendly, growing, team of dedicated staff and volunteers, who all want to help save nature in the Aire Valley. There will be the opportunity to meet lots of new people, make friends, and help develop a strong sense of community around the reserve. We'll provide training, uniform and, of course, a lovely reserve to spend time in!
