Join our Wednesday work party to help us maintain our important habitats and to keep our reserve infrastructure in great condition.

Vacancy type:
Practical conservation
Location:
Stour Estuary Reserve

What we're looking for

Our regular work parties are vital to carry out various habitat management and estate work on our reserves, and are looking for volunteers to come and join our team. We want help in areas of habitat management and reserve maintenance at Stour Estuary reserves. All tasks are crucial for conservation of the sites and for retaining good access to, and around the reserves.

The skills you need

No specialist skills are required, but enthusiasm and an interest in conservation are essential. You must be happy working outside in all weathers. You will need to be able to walk several hundred yards over sometime uneven and slippery ground and to enjoy working as part of a team.

Your time

Minimum:
Every Wednesday
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is a great opportunity to help with reserve management, become part of a small team, meet like-minded people, and learn about the running of the reserves. An excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation, and the opportunity to gain new skills. This role is increasingly varied and the jobs change weekly depending on what needs doing. One week you might be helping with the woodland ride management in Stour Woods, the next fixing a fence on Cattawade marshes, or perhaps helping to build new infrastructure at Flatford Wildlife Garden. If you like a challenge and want to get involved and gain experience in practical conservation work, this is the role for you.
