What we're looking for

We need enthusiastic and committed people to assist us in delivering a programme of events. These will be delivered at our reserves, at shows, events, with schools and community groups, throughout Northern Ireland. You will be engaging with a range of people, from 3 year olds up to teenagers, families and adults giving out simple conservation messages through delivery of face to face activities. Through this engagement you will also explain the work of the RSPB and how the public can support us and help Give Nature a Home.

The skills you need

Whether you are attending an event or working with a school with the RSPB your enthusiasm for nature is priceless and will ensure your sessions will be enjoyable and successful. While you will always work alongside RSPB staff members you will have the ability to work both as part of a team and as an individual. You'll be confident to speak and engage with all age groups, but most importantly be good at promoting our conservation messages whilst having fun. You will be encouraged to use your creativity to help us develop new RSPB activities, games and resources, which can be used at a variety of venues and events.

Your time

Minimum:
2-4 Days a month
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
All year around

What's in it for you?

This is a fantastic new opportunity to work with the RSPB's Reserves, Community and Education Teams in a structured programme designed to use your skills and give you experience of working with children and families. This will be a role giving great variety and flexibility with the chance to attend many different types of venues. The programme will start with full training and induction, introducing the RSPB and our range of community engagement and outreach work. Once you have undergone this training you will be working at a variety of venues with our staff and all of your work will be rewarded with certification of hours given to the programme.
