What we're looking for

Are you passionate about nature? Would you like to share your enthusiasm with others the join our visitor engagement team at RSPB Loch Lomond! We are looking for people like you to assist with guided walks, wildlife activities, and to inspire visitors about wildlife and the work we're doing at RSPB Loch Lomond.

The skills you need

You will need to have the confidence to strike up conversations with members of the public as well as having a passion for spreading fun and sharing knowledge. You can let your creativity and ideas shine through when inventing engagement games and activities. An enthusiasm for wildlife conservation is important but not essential. Most importantly of all you will need a friendly demeanour and a ready smile.

What's in it for you?

The role would suit some who's bright and chatty and endlessly enthusiastic about nature! We want you to love meeting and talking to people of all ages. It's a great opportunity to work for a conservation organisation and to learn lots about birds and other wildlife through running activities, as well as building up brilliant skills in people engagement. You will have a lot of scope to be inventive and creative in your engagement ideas and get an insight into the wildlife found here. The visitor hub is open for weekends only from April 2016 but hours are flexible. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, The largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.

Notes

Having your own transport is not necessary as we can arrange to pick you up from Balloch train station. Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary. The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing – help us keep it that way.
