What we're looking for

We are looking for volunteers to support our visitor engagement at Dove Stone. You will be volunteering alongside an experienced, long standing volunteer, and will receive a full induction The role includes chatting to visitors about the site and the amazing conservation work on the peat bog, filling bird feeders, helping with guided walks (not leading unless you want to!), showing people nesting peregrines and other wildlife, assisting with family activities and encouraging people to support the RSPB through membership recruitment

The skills you need

You are passionate about wildlife and conservation and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. You are reasonably fit, love the outdoors and being out in all weathers (this reserve has no visitor centre or hides!). You can drive and can commit to helping out on one or two Sundays a month Dove Stone is a stunning site set at the gateway to the Peak District National Park, close to Oldham, Huddersfield, Manchester and Glossop. It is owned by United Utilities and managed in partnership with the RSPB. It receives over 200,000 visits each year

Your time

1 or 2 days per month
Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays
