Vacancy type:
Publicity and promotional
Location:
Chorlton Water Park

What we're looking for

Manchester City Council and RSPB are developing an exciting new vision to connect people with nature in the Mersey Valley. We are encouraging local people to do something positive for wildlife, reconnect with nature and help look after the Mersey Valley by getting actively involved at Chorlton Water Park and Fletcher Moss. We have some Wildlife Discovery Backpacks which we want to make available to members of the public to add value to their visit to the reserve. The backpacks will be available for a small charge to visitors every Sunday and we are looking for people to promote the use of these backpacks to visitors. You will - meet and greet visitors - promote the backpacks and their contents to visitors - talk passionately about what wildlife can be seen around the park - maintain and use a nature curiosities table to provoke interest from visitors - run small scale activities as and when appropriate - handle cash for the hire of the backpacks

The skills you need

You need to be approachable, chatty and have a willingness to muck in. Some wildlife knowledge is an advantage but most of all it is your enthusiasm for nature that we want!

Your time

Minimum:
1 day a month
Duration:
Ongoing
Period:
Year round Sundays

What's in it for you?

This is a great chance to be involved with a developing new partnership between the RSPB and Manchester City Council and inspire visitors to discover for themselves the wildlife at this fantastic local nature reserve. You'll also get some good experience, induction to the site and training in carrying out fun activities!
