What we're looking for

Help the RSPB raise vital funds for conservation work and to Save Nature by inspiring and supporting a team of volunteers who are looking after pin badge donation boxes in your local area. We need you to promote these schemes to potential new box sites like businesses, shops, visitor attractions; anywhere that people might see them and grab a lovely badge for just £1! You'll enlist the help of new people and also support and existing volunteers to create a successful local team.

The skills you need

You will be a good motivator, friendly, outgoing and enjoy meeting people. You will be happy managing and supporting other people in their roles. As well as a high level of self motivation, you will also have good communication and interpersonal skills. You don't need a knowledge of birds or of nature just a lot of enthusiasm! Basic computer knowledge (including experience of Microsoft Excel) is required, as is an ability to work on your own initiative. A full driving licence is essential. You will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of local volunteers looking after pin badge boxes. You will provide appropriate support and resources and ensure they have all they need. Your activities must be in line with RSPB and charity commission best practice, but we will support you to achieve this.

Your time

Flexible – Approximately 20 hours a month
All year round

What's in it for you?

The chance to meet like minded people and chat to them about the RSPB and its work. This is a great opportunity to develop your interpersonal and computing skills and gain experience managing and supporting people within a local fundraising scheme. You'll gain the satisfaction of knowing you are raising valuable funds to assist our conservation work whilst helping like-minded volunteers to succeed in their roles too.
