What we're looking for

We're looking for volunteers who are passionate about engaging children & families with nature. We're looking for people who are keen to be part of an exciting project helping thousands of children discover and learn more about wildlife in Cardiff. As an Event Volunteer you'll be helping to run nature based activities for families in Cardiff's parks, greenspaces and family friendly indoor venues, from libraries to community centres. You'll be an essential part of the Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff project. Delivered in partnership with the City of Cardiff Council and Buglife, the project aims to inspire and enable more children and families to spend more time, more regularly with nature.

The skills you need

You'll need to be enthusiast about learning outdoors and community engagement with a keen interest in wildlife. You'll be happy spending lots of time outside in all weathers. You'll be a natural working with young people, have excellent social and communication skills and an ability to connect with and engage a range of audiences across the city. You'll be part of a busy team, so you'll be a great team player with a positive, can do attitude, resourceful, flexible and keen to learn. With lots of events and activities to deliver you'll be organised and motivated with lots of initiative to ensure you're able to seize all possible opportunities to excel in your role.

You'll be working with families and children and in so doing be helping to save nature by inspiring and enabling more young people to spend more time outdoors discovering and enjoying the natural world. You'll be able to increase your knowledge of Cardiff's urban wildlife and work alongside other like-minded volunteers.
