What we're looking for

We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help ensure our stunning reserve are in tip-top condition for our visitors. Volunteers like you carry out regular checks on hides, trails and signs, making sure they are clean, safe and welcoming to all.

The skills you need

An eye for detail and reliability are a must. The ability to carry out minor maintenance, for example by doing a small amount of cleaning in hides and pruning back vegetation. A friendly and out-going personality, as you will be meeting many visitors as you carry out your role.

Your time

1 or 2 half days a week
All year round

By regularly walking the visitor trails you'll get to know more about the reserve's wildlife and also get the chance to meet new people. You will be working as part of a small team and will get the chance to meet great people. This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation. You will gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.

Appropriate training and ongoing support will be provided, and travel expenses can be reimbursed if needed. We could not do what we do without our amazing volunteers, so you will be invited to volunteers' events eg. summerr bbq) to thank you for your work. The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB.
