What we're looking for

RSPB Pagham Harbour is a peaceful nature reserve, one of the few undeveloped stretches of the Sussex coast, and an internationally important wetland site for wildlife. RSPB Medmerry is just a stone's throw from Pagham Harbour, with new mudflats, tidal lagoons, saltmarsh, wildlife-friendly farmland and dragonfly-rich ditches. We're looking for someone with bags of creativity, excellent writing skills (including sound spelling/grammar), a talent for sharp editing skills to be editor for our reserves volunteer newsletter, reserve bulletins and blogs. There is plenty of scope for volunteering from home in this role, or at the reserve office on either weekends or weekdays if you prefer. Tasks include: •Producing a regular newsletter for reserve volunteers six times a year (every 2 months). We currently use MS Word though MS Publisher is also an option. •Producing short/quick reserve bulletins for Pagham & Medmerry volunteers (between newsletters). •Writing volunteer features for the nature reserve blog. Training relevant to the role would be provided before starting , and you'd be supported every step of the way by the Reserve Volunteer Co-ordinator and reserve team.

The skills you need

Essential: •Excellent creative writing & sharp editing skills •Friendly, approachable, strong interpersonal skills •Good organisational & planning skills •Ability to use initiative and work without direct supervision •Enjoy working as part of a small team •At times you'd be working with confidential information so we'd need you to respect this. •Computer literate *An interest in the work of a nature reserve and RSPB
