What we're looking for

We need you to help us enthuse and inspire children about nature; you will support our team visiting schools to deliver fun and exciting activities as part of an in-class and outdoor learning programme. We take our outdoor learning programme in to schools and nurseries to give children the chance to experience nature first-hand and you can be part of that exciting journey of discovery! Share in the excitement as a volunteer and you will have the opportunity to join our team delivering our education programme to schools and nurseries where typical activities range from bird watching to mini-beast hunting and nature detecting. The activities and programme has been specially designed for nursery and primary school children and has so much to offer for teaching young people. Our programmes are linked to the National Curriculum and are fully risk assessed. You will be supporting an existing team of educators to deliver tried and tested programmes.

The skills you need

Essential Skills/Experience needed: * An interest in wildlife, conservation and the environment * Ability to communicate effectively with children of differing needs and levels of understanding. * Ability to work as part of a team and on your own. * Ability to travel to school sites. Desirable skills/experience: * An enthusiasm for outdoor education and a willingness to learn new skills and about the environment * A resourceful and flexible approach to be able to cope with a wide variety of ages and abilities of children

Your time

Up to 2 days a week school term timr March-June Sept - November
During school terms, Spring and Autumn
