What we're looking for

You will join the team of wardens on a Saturday or Sunday helping to keep the reserve running efficiently and safely. The day will start with helping to open up the reserve's hides and trails and will finish with closing down the reserve. In between you will help with a variety of practical tasks, dependent on weather and season. These will include mowing and maintaining our footpaths, checking the reserve's flock of Shetland sheep, checking and repairing our boundary fences, maintaining hides, hide views and bird feeding areas and generally helping to give nature a home at Saltholme.

The skills you need

As this role will be lone-working, you need to be 18 or over. This role also requires some fitness as you will be working outdoors and will be required to walk/cycle the reserve's trails.

Your time

Saturday or Sunday
All year round

What's in it for you?

This role will give you a real insight into how we run the reserve for people and nature. You will have the opportunity to see areas of the reserve usually out of bounds. You will be able to spend much of the day outdoors and will see some fantastic wildlife. All training required will be provided and PPE including suncream.
