What we're looking for
RSPB Dungeness nature reserve is a wonderful setting to volunteer, set back from the sea, boasting mile after mile of open shingle, fresh water pits, wet grassland and stunning wildflower meadows. Volunteers are an essential part of our overall workforce who directly contribute to the vital conservation work at Dungeness. Our livestock help to keep Dungeness special for wildlife and keep our grassland in great condition for bumblebees and breeding waders. We need to keep our fields stock-proof at all times, so we are looking for volunteers to assist with the monitoring and repair (as required) of all fencing infrastructure (including gates) and to feed into the prioritisation of large scale repairs/replacement. NB. Volunteers are advised to bring all weather gear and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Lunch and a hot drink are advisable.
