What we're looking for

Do you remember your first wildlife experience – maybe it was finding your first ladybird or seeing a baby bird leave its nest for the first time? We believe all children and young people should have the same opportunity to connect to nature. Visiting school and youth groups at Bempton Cliffs explore our clifftop habitats and learn all about our amazing seabirds as part of our inspiring outdoor learning programmes. With bags of enthusiasm and a love for wildlife, you will lead our outdoor sessions using resources, games and play to engage children at one of Europe's most important seabird colonies and top wildlife spectacles.

The skills you need

Essential •Approachable, with a friendly demeanour •Enjoy being part of a team •Ability to communicate well and listen •Enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation •Passionate about inspiring children •Ability to be on the go all day •Basic ecological knowledge •Ability to be on the go all day •Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal development •Prepared to lead sessions with school groups •DBS checked, or willing to be checked Desirable •Be confident in dealing with tricky situations •Familiarity with Bempton Cliffs •Aware of aims of environmental education •Ability to work with large groups •Experience of working with children •Own transport •Basic ecological knowledge, but training will be given •Able to work as part of the wider Bempton Cliffs reserve team

Please note this role requires someone who is available and able to lead school groups one day a week from March to July to cover school terms. If you have any doubt about your availability, please speak to Dave before applying for this role. All background information, uniform and training will be provided.
