Vacancy type:
Practical conservation
Location:
Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay

What we're looking for

We are setting up a brand new weekend work party to carry out various habitat management and estate work on the reserve. We need volunteer help in the areas of habitat management and reserve maintenance. We will be focussing most of our efforts on some of the less well known parts of reserve, especially Warton Crag. All tasks are vital for conservation of the site and for retaining good access to, and around the reserve

The skills you need

Enthusiasm and an interest in conservation are essential. No specialist skills are required though a good level of fitness and a desire to work outside is essential. You will need an up-to-date tetanus injection and to enjoy working as part of a team.

Your time

Minimum:
1 Saturday a month
Duration:
Initially from October to March only
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

An opportunity to help with reserve management, become part of a small team and learn about the running of the reserve. A chance to enjoy the reserve. The opportunity to build up skills. This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation. You will gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.
