What we're looking for

With over 100,000 visitors a year, Bempton Cliffs is a very busy reserve. We aim to deliver first class customer care at all times, as well as giving an outstanding home to nature. We are looking for someone to provide a warm welcome to all our visitors, providing them with the information they need to make the most of their visit. We need you to be able to enthuse people about wildlife and the RSPB, and actively encourage non-members to join. Other duties include answering telephone enquiries and promoting events/activities.

The skills you need

Essential •Approachable, with a friendly demeanour •A desire to help people and exceed expectations through excellent customer care •Confident with handling money •Enjoy being part of a team •Confidence to initiate conversations with and talk to members of the public •Experience of working in visitor attraction •Ability to be on the go all day •Willingness to learn and use basic sales techniques •Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal development Desirable •Be confident in dealing with tricky situations •An infectious enthusiasm for nature and its conservation •Excellent phone manner •First Aid certificate •Knowledge of some RSPB work and a familiarity with Bempton Cliffs •Experience of working in a sales orientated background •Enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation •The ability to inspire visitors to give nature a home where they live •An awareness of Health and Safety •Confident in encouraging membership
