What we're looking for

Our Community Team are involved in so many areas of work and we need a flexible, outgoing and confident team of people to help us promote the work we do and to help us gain support, through fundraising, membership, promotions and marketing. Areas of our work that we need you to assist us with is: Attend events with our Community team to engage with families, through nature based activities. Help run our Engaging People with Nature Project at the Ulster Museum. Help raise funds through Pin Badge sales at events and at pre-arranged outlets. Promote our Flagship Reserve, The West Light Seabird Centre, Rathlin Island,

The skills you need

You will need to be: Flexible- to adapt to different types of promotion. Sociable and Engaging - to strike up conversations with members of the public. Confident and Outgoing. Self motivated but at the same time a good team player. Available at weekends A sense of fun. We would be especially interested in those who could devise and create their own nature based activities.

As an RSPB volunteer you'll be part of something big- a team of amazing and dedicated people who donate their time, energy talent and skills to help birds and other wildlife. You will be part of a wider fundraising and People Engagement network helping to raise funds and awareness of our work and our reserves to support the RSPB's ongoing conservation work. You will each gain skills in event planning and management and get the opportunity to meet new people along the way. You will learn new skills in the varied promotion of our work, and will benefit from working with various members of staff. RSPB are members of the Millennium Volunteer Scheme ensuring that if you are under 25 your volunteering is formally recognised.

Full training will be provided for your team and any expenses incurred whilst volunteering will be reimbursed. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe!
