What we're looking for

Fundraising is a vital part of RSPB Guildford Local Group activities. The money raised supports the work of the Group and the conservation work of the RSPB. We need someone to help plan and organise fundraising events and initiatives in and around Guildford, in particular the Christmas Fair at Cranleigh. These fairs raise hundreds of pounds and whilst the hall bookings and many helpers for these are in place, advance arrangements need to be made for each fair.

The skills you need

You need to be friendly and keen to speak to people with good communication and organisational skills, with lots of motivation and enthusiasm to raise funds to help save nature with the RSPB.

Your time

Minimum:
4 hours per month, but more in October & November
Duration:
1-3 years
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

This is an opportunity to take a lead role in organising one of our main fundraising events in the country. You will have the support of the Local Group committee and access to advice and help from the current organiser. There will be an opportunity for a handover meeting with guidance notes developed over the last few years. You will of course be able to change the way things are done and make your own mark on the event. The current organiser says "I had no previous experience of running events but was ably supported by a group of enthusiastic helpers. Do get in touch and I would be happy to discuss what the role involves".

Notes

Time input varies greatly at different times of the year. October and November are the busy times when the fair is being organised. The Christmas Fair committee meets one evening a month and meetings usually lasting between 1 and 2 hours. Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us.
