What we're looking for
Do you love talking to people and sharing your enthusiasm for wildlife and your local nature reserves? We need Visitor Ambassadors to greet visitors and ensure a great visitor experience. You'll be a friendly face representing the RSPB and an information point for visitors. You'll be talking to people about our amazing work, inspiring them to support us and take action for nature. You are not expected to remain in the car park/visitor shelter at all times during your visit, simply maintain a friendly presence, interacting with visitors around the reserve. We are interested in the views of our visitors and would like you to conduct simple surveys from time to time. Gathering this information will help the RSPB to better tailor our offer to meet visitor expectations. RSPB Wallasea Island is open every day except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day so if you could spare from one day a fortnight we would love to hear from you. COVID-19 As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic your role will also include sanitising the high touch points in the hide once during your visit. As an RSPB representative you will be expected to follow government guidance on social distancing, face coverings etc, however, we do not expect you to police this for your safety. RSPB membership really is the lifeblood of the Society and underpins every single thing we do. It helps us fund nature conservation work here and across the UK - not only the ongoing land management of our reserves but also by creating and enhancing magnificent wild spaces for nature and people to enjoy. It is therefore important that you can inspire people about the work we do and warm them up to the idea of membership.
