What we're looking for
Between now and Summer 2018, the RSPB is building a brand new visitor centre at the legendary home of Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest. When it is open, we, along with our partners, will also be taking over the management of the National Nature Reserve from Nottinghamshire County Council who currently manage the nature reserve and visitor centre. Our Facebook and Twitter pages will be the first point of contact for a lot of people who are looking for information about the visitor centre progress and the nature reserve. Through social media we can network and engage with a broad range of audiences who will become excited and inspired about the ancient woodland landscape, the wildlife that lives there and the new visitor centre. We need a team of dedicated volunteers to support the management of our Facebook and Twitter accounts, so that they are regularly updated and activity is frequently monitored. You will respond to messages in a timely fashion and act as an ambassador for the RSPB and its partners. We have a code of practice for using social media which we expect you to follow and which should help with the management of different platforms. You will work to a social media plan/calendar to ensure there are regular relevant posts on the page. You will be part of a communications team who will support you. We are looking for volunteers to monitor social media out of hours.
