What we're looking for

We organise regular work parties to carry out various habitat management and estate work tasks on the reserve. We want volunteers to help with jobs such as glade clearance, footpath maintenance, fencing, nest box cleaning and checking and much more! All the tasks are vital for the conservation of the site and for retaining good access to, and around this small but popular reserve. The work parties run on the first Sunday of every month, 9:30-3.

The skills you need

Enthusiasm and an interest in conservation are essential. No specialist skills are required though a good level of fitness and a desire to work outside, in all weathers is essential. You will need an up-to-date tetanus injection and to enjoy working as part of a team.

Your time

Minimum:
1 or 2 days per year

Ongoing

All year round

What's in it for you?

An opportunity to help with reserve management, become part of a small but dedicated team, gain skills in practical conservation and contribute to the running of the 3rd oldest RSPB reserve. This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation at a site that is popular for bird watchers and plays an important role in the local community.
