What we're looking for

We are looking for a volunteer with excellent communication skills who will be able to make our youth and adult members feel a valued part of the RSPB whilst assisting with important administrative and editorial tasks within a fast-paced, friendly team. Have you had previous experience in an editorial team? Then this role may be right up your street. Continuing the conversation with our members after they have received our communications is absolutely essential to the values of the RSPB. We are a member-based charity and without continued support from our supporters we would be unable to continue our vital conservation work in the UK and globally. When people write a letter or email to the RSPB, we want them to feel inspired and passionate about nature and the RSPB from our response. From children to adults we seek continued lifetime support and know our readers and members really value getting a response from us. As an editorial volunteer you will: - Connect with members via email and post to ensure they feel they've been heard. - Proofread communications in order to provide supporters with the best content possible. - Working with Direct Marketing Officer, engage with youth culture to ensure that competitions are relevant and promoting connections to nature.

The skills you need

- Communicating with supporters to provide the best answers and correspondence for audience needs - Organisation to prioritise work load and time - Flexibility and adaptability to take on tasks as and when they come up, whilst potentially hot-desking - Confidence to take initiative when communicating with supporters
