Vacancy type:
Office and administration, Publicity and promotional, Inspiring young people

What we're looking for

The costumed guides, or storytellers, are volunteers who will wear medieval costumes and therefore bringing the legend of Robin Hood to life. We're not expecting actors to fill this role, its just a uniform. However we're looking for volunteers with an engaging personality. Storytelling is simply the act of relaying information in a way that inspires and brings your topic to life and it will spark imagination and interest. Like any guide at a museum or attraction - but with the added element of wearing a costume. It's something many people do naturally, and we're looking for people to tell stories of the forest, its most famous outlaw and the wildlife that makes it, its home. Families are a key audience, so engaging with young people is important in this role. Wear a costume to undertake the role as storyteller Manage a 'station' on the main visitor trail and engage with passing visitors about a specific topic. This could be about aspects of the legend of Robin Hood, natural history or the history of the forest itself. It will vary depending on where you are Deliver key messages and information through excellent communication and storytelling Deliver simple activities that will help bring the forest and it's stories to life. This could involve using props
