What we're looking for
Do you love Old Hall Marshes and the Essex Coast? This is a unique opportunity to help with the ongoing management of the reserve. Old Hall Marshes is the largest remaining area of ancient coastal grazing marsh in Essex. Home to a wide range of species including some very special and scarce Essex species such lapwing, redshank, marsh harrier, bearded tits, and numerous other species both avian and non-avian. Tucked away and hidden on the Blackwater estuary, one of the finest places to see wildlife in Essex and arguably the country. This is a brand new initiative for Old Hall marshes. We are looking for individuals to become weekend wardens who will play a valuable and ongoing role in our efforts to manage the reserve, As weekend Wardens your role will be both varied and interesting but duties could involve opening and closing the reserve, checking the Konik ponies, taking part in surveys both avian and non-avian, engaging with visitors and some basic maintenance work around the reserve as required.
