What we're looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers in South & West Scotland to help save our wildlife by managing pin badge boxes in their local area. 10% of all UK species are now under threat of extinction, but we're determined to stop this happening with your help! Available for Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. When you join our team of volunteers, we will support you in placing boxes in your chosen area. You would then collect any donations and top the box up with pins every 2-4 weeks (depending on its popularity). The income is then reported on our user friendly online system. This can all be done at a time that suits you. Simple! It just needs to be done on a regular basis for an average of an hour a week.

The skills you need

A friendly and personable approach, a high level of motivation, good communication skills and an ability to work on own initiative. We use an web-based system to keep track of all our boxes and their income, so you will need access to a computer. The system is very easy to use! Knowledge of shops, businesses and tourist attractions near you will be helpful.

Your time

Visiting the outlet and monitoring income every two weeks
All year round

What's in it for you?

Easy way to raise valuable funds to assist the RSPB's nature and wildlife conservation work. An enjoyable opportunity to get out and about in your local area to meet people and chat to them about the RSPB and its work. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work.
