What we're looking for

The RSPB has over 250,000 junior members as well as thousands of children who visit our nature reserves every year as part of our Education programme. As a result, we take our Safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. We are looking to recruit a Safeguarding expert/consultant to join and work alongside our Safeguarding Team to help us provide expert advice on all safeguarding matters to our employees and volunteers. We already have a Safeguarding Policy in place, Safeguarding Advisers in our regions and countries and we are looking for your help to further improve and develop our Safeguarding provision, advice and practices.

The skills you need

We are looking for an expert in the field of Safeguarding who can provide specialist expert advice on all matters relating to the Safeguarding of children and vulnerable/protected adults. You will have knowledge of DBS and PVG processes and systems as well as practical experience on advising on Safeguarding matters in a UK wide organisation at a strategic level.

Your time

Minimum:
Attend up to six 2-hour Safeguarding Steering Group Meetings a Year – Monday to Friday.
