Do you have a passion for delivering a warm welcome? We are looking for volunteers to help answer calls to our regional office in Glasgow, providing a great service to those who call or visit us.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a keen volunteer to answer queries from members of the general public regarding wildlife and conservation issues as well as offering information about the RSPB. Between calls there will be time to read about breeding bird behaviour and the work of the RSPB as well as completing general administrative tasks to support the Glasgow team and ensure the smooth running of the office. These may include counting money, updating records, tidying, filing, ordering stationary.

The skills you need

Ability to communicate clearly and confidently over the phone. Basic computer literacy. Knowledge of nature and conservation. Flexibility to handle adhoc nature of role (might only be able to give short notice) and confidence to work with minimal supervision once guidance given.

The role itself is very rewarding and there is a great deal to be learned regarding wildlife and conservation. Learning modules will also be made available to you as a volunteer regarding the legality of working for a charity and working with the public.
