What we're looking for
We want to make sure that all of our news about forthcoming events reach the widest, targeted, audience possible, not to mention promoting the reserve to attract new visitors and potentially new members for the RSPB. We need someone to help make this possible! Along with doing this, through attraction websites and printed media event listings and offer pages, we need someone to work their way through our existing lists, and help ensure that our information on events is up to date, with the aim to also expand this list by finding new places to advertise the reserve (for free of course!). We then need to analyse the return on our work to ensure that we are using the best media outlets possible. You will work as a key link between the reserve and the work of our Public Affairs team in delivering objectives for conservation, education, volunteering, youth work, people-engagement, awareness raising, events, media work and much more. Day-to-day work may include: creating posters, adverts and event posts putting up posters in the local areas, communicating with the public affairs team to ensure we are staying on brand delivering to time scales and communicating with the reserves team if we are behind on certain advertising targets. There is also the need for some writing for local newsletters and parish magazines on a monthly basis to improve communications with the local area.
