What we're looking for

We are looking for someone to join our team and help manage data in its paper, electronic spreadsheet and digitally mapped formats. You will help collate data from previous reserves management plan maps, as well as edit excel spreadsheets, so they can be easily imported on to our internal mapping system Merlin. It is important that we make our data available in an electronic format and share it within the RSPB so that it can be used for research, day to day reserve management and for informing development.

The skills you need

This is an office based position. You will have a strong interest in nature and the environment and be keen to use excel and GIS to help the organisation. Experience in GIS and reading maps is required, but further training will be provided. Some knowledge of nature reserve management would also be beneficial.

Your time

Minimum:
2 + days per week
Duration:
Ongoing, starting as soon as possible.
Period:
All year round

What's in it for you?

The opportunity to develop GIS skills and to get a thorough understanding of how the RSPB works and the breadth of work being carried out by the organisation. The internal mapping system Merlin is key to many roles within the organisation so you will get to work with a variety of people in different departments.
